MORRISTOWN, NJ - What is Whoville Doing inside Bethlehem Just Outside of the Morristown Green
According to the Dr. Seuss classic "Horton Hears A Who," "The city of Whoville is located within a floating speck of dust which is then placed on to a clover by Horton the elephant."
This season, the community of Washington Valley Chapel have brought Whoville to Morristown, by way of Bethlhem. Under the direction of Mary DeMoss, a crew created a life-size progressive nativity complete with a full flock of sheep, shepherds, and Joseph leading Mary, recreating their journey to the ancient city.
This work of art is on display at 57 Kahdena Rd. in Morristown.
On Dec. 18 Washington Valley Chapel will presents "The Grinch Who Found Christmas" at 10:30 a.m., an adaptation of the famed Dr. Seuss tale remastered by Pat and Kellie Towner.
There is no charge and refreshments will be served immediately following.
Also, join Washington Valley's Community Christmas Caroling event on Dec. 23 from 7 to 7:30 pm at 57 Kahdena Rd. with the congregation and hot chocolate.
"It came without ribbons It came without tags.
It came without ribbons boxes or bags.
And he puzzled & puzzled til his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before.
What if Christmas, he thought doesn't come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more"
