If You Care, an environmentally friendly line of kitchen and household products, again supported the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter as a leading sponsor of the 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
The Bergen-Passaic Walk To End Alzheimer’s happened everywhere on Saturday, October 17 but participation and fundraising continues through December 31. Due to COVID-19, the Alzheimer’s Association is encouraging participants to walk as individuals or in small groups on sidewalks, tracks and trails around their neighborhoods. A recording of the opening ceremony featuring local speakers and a presentation of “Promise Flowers” to honor the personal reasons participants join together to fight Alzheimer’s can be viewed, any time, at: https://lnkd.in/ej4v3KG.
“The Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (AAGNJ) is committed to collaborating with our community partner — If You Care — to create a safety net around those impacted by dementia”, said chapter executive director, Cheryl Ricci-Francione. “We provide a vast array of resources and educational programs to New Jersey residents, all at no cost. We are able to provide these services due to the generous support of our donors and corporate sponsors.”
The Alzheimer’s Association continues to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, while also supporting critically needed research,” said Robert Feuerstein, Chairman of the Board, Source Atlantique, If You Care’s parent company. “We are aware of the dramatic impact that dementia has on our employees and their families, which is why we proudly sponsor the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®.“
More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease — the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. Here in New Jersey, there are 190,000 living with the disease and approximately 450,000 family members and friends providing care to people living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia.
