Passaic County Heath Department Offers Mental Health Training Course


Join in the fight to saves lives and train to become a mental health first aider.

A free mental health first aid training class will be held on Monday, Aug. 7 and Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Public Safety Academy, 300 Oldham Rd., Wayne. The sessions are from 1 to 5 p.m. each day and you need to attend both to receive your certificate.

The training will teach you how to help those developing a mental illness or in crisis. Learn how to apply action to a variety of situations including anxiety, depression, addictions, and acute psychosis.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced that Kidde has recalled dual sensor smoke alarms due to risk of failure to alert consumers to a fire.
