Richard Kingsland Returns to Nutley After a Century Long Cross Country Journey

Nutley NJ - The Kingsland Manor Restoration Trust invites the public to the unveiling of a 19th century portrait of Richard Kingsland on Sunday 18 2016 in Nutley NJ.

Kingsland Manor is an 18th Century home in Nutley that was a part of the early industrial development in what was then a forested area of the colony. The Third River follows a course past the homestead. The restored dam on the river served as a part of a water powered mill on the property.

Richard Kingsland, whose portrait will be revealed on Sunday, was born in 1818 The portrait was returned to Nutley by local residents Jamie Bevic and Jaime Molinaro who retrieved it from Colorado this past summer. Born in 1811, Kingsland married in 1846 and had four children. His only son Roger Joseph took the portrait with him when he moved to West Virginia. The portrait moved to California before ending up in Colorado.

The portrait will be unveiled at 2 p.m., and the open house will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Music will be performed by Blues Republic.

 Kingsland Manor is located at 3 Kingsland Street Nutley NJ 07110.  There is no parking at the Manor, guests can park on the local streets or across the street from the Manor in the Stop n Shop Parking lot at Clifton Commons.
