LITTLE FALLS, NJ - Township native and Passaic Valley Regional High School graduate Jess LeProtto has joined the cast for the upcoming national tour of "Hello, Dolly!" starring Betty Buckley in the title role.
He will join Tony nominee Lewis Stadlen (The Front Page), Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon), Analisa Leaming (School of Rock), Kristen Hahn (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), Garrett Hawe (Carousel), Morgan Kirner, and Jessica Sheridan (Follies).
Leaming, LeProtto, and Sheridan have each previously understudied their respective tracks in the Broadway mounting of the revival.
Following the Cleveland engagement, the tour will go on to play Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Boston, and more.
The Jerry Zaks-helmed revival continues at the Shubert Theatre, where Bette Midler currently reprises her Tony-winning turn as Dolly Gallagher Levi through Aug. 25, at which point the production will close.
"I'll be donning my Sunday clothes again as Mr. Barnaby Tucker on the 'Hello, Dolly!' national tour," LeProtto told fans on his Facebook page. "So excited for this next adventure and with this lovely company. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the road."
LeProtto recently performed with "A Bronx Tale" and "Carosel" on Broadway. He has also performed in "Cats," On the Town," "Newsies" and "Bye, Bye Birdie" on Broadway.
Jess began his Passaic Valley theater experience as an incoming freshman in the PV Summer Theatre production of The Who’s "Tommy" (2007) as young Tommy. Although Jess began his professional career at the age of 9, Passaic Valley Theater nurtured his passion for the stage. Other PVST credits include "Rent" (2008) and "South Pacific" (Lt. Cable, 2010).
Jess also is pursuing a BFA in musical theater from Pace University in Manhattan.
