The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Department of Cultural and Historic Affairs will host the annual Washington's Encampment at the Dey Mansion in Wayne on Sunday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Come learn what life was like as a soldier during the American Revolution. Watch soldiers clean their muskets while women prepare meals. Some soldiers may be drilling with their men while others plan for battle or play cards. Special appearance will be made by New Jersey's local militia.
There will be 18th Century games, music, demonstrations and crafters. The event is free, and open to all, however there is a $5 admission to the mansion should you wish to tour it.
