Woodland Park Business Association Presents Scholarship

WOODLAND PARK, NJ - The Woodland Park Business Association, at the June 20 Borough Council meeting, presented a check to the recipient of its annual scholarship. Marie Mac Leod, a senior at Passaic Valley High School from Woodland Park, was given a check for $500.

Scholarship criteria is heavily contingent upon the writing of an essay of which the topic this year was to answer the question: Discuss two specific challenges of small businesses today and identify a course of action that the owner can take to overcome these challenges and increase their likelihood of success.

Marie, who graduated from Passaic Valley on June 22, will be attending Fairleigh Dickinson University - Florham Park with an anticipated major area of study in psychology. Her long range plans includes pursuing a career as a clinical psychologist, specializing in neuropsychology. A past volunteer at the Alfred Baumann Library, she has been involved in various church activities, sports, clubs, peer mentoring, and Girls Show; served in the Student Senate at Passaic Valley; and maintained a high grade point average and ranking. 

The Woodland Park Business Association wish Maria continued success in all her future endeavors.
