Woodland Park Police Help Make Birthday Girl's Wish Come True

WOODLAND PARK, NJ - Woodland Park Mayor Keith Kazmark and members of Woodland Park Police Department were invited to the 7th birthday party for Malia Valdez, a borough resident, on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Malia wants to be a police officer when she grows up. Her birthday party theme from the movie "Zootopia" which has a main character called Judy Hopps, who is a police officer. At the party, Kazmark swore in Valdez as a junior police officer. She also got to talk with and ask questions of some of the officers - which included Eileen Tiernan, Erik Luker, Michael Brady and Omaira Carino.

Assembly Democratic Bill to Ensure Safety of Special Needs Students on School Buses Clears Assembly Panel

TRENTON, NJ – Legislation sponsored by Assembly Democrats Daniel Benson, Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Reed Gusciora, Ralph Caputo and Andrew Zwicker to protect special needs students who ride school buses was released last week by an Assembly panel.
