79 films of up to 10 minutes in length representing several categories such as general short film; public service announcement; music video, and documentaries, all produced by high school students, university students, and independent film makers who live, attend school, or work in Passaic County were submitted for entry according to festival officials.

In addition to the films the NJ Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players will perform thanks to a grant by the PSEG Foundation, welcoming the audience as they enter the theater.

In February members of the Passaic County Film Commission judged the films and on April 10 will present several awards including a grand prize for the best film of the festival and the "Shooting Star" award presented by the North Jersey Federal Credit Union.

“We are thrilled that 79 films were submitted this year by the many talented students and independent film makers from Passaic County," Freeholder Director John Bartlett said looking forward to the event. "This is the 15th year of our sponsorship of the film festival and we are delighted to give County film makers an opportunity to share their films with the public. This year’s film festival should be truly special as we feature the NJ Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players.”
