LITTLE FALLS, NJ - Passaic Valley Summer Theater will be presenting two productions this summer - "Zombie Prom, the musical" and "Shrek The Musical, Jr."
"Zombie Prom" will be presented on Thursday, July 25, Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m. each evening, performed by students from Little Falls, Totowa, Woodland Park, West Orange, Clifton, Montclair and Cedar Grove.
This "girl loves ghoul rock and roll" off-Broadway musical is set in the atomic 50s at Enrico Fermi High, where the law is laid down by a zany, tyrannical principal. Pretty senior Toffee has fallen for the class bad boy. Family pressure forces her to end the romance, and he charges off on his motorcycle to the nuclear waste dump. He returns glowing and determined to reclaim Toffee's heart. History comes to his rescue while a tuneful selection of original songs in the style of 50s hits keeps the action rocking across the stage.
"Shrek The Musical, Jr." will be presented on Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. each evening, performed by students from Little Falls, Totowa, Woodland Park, West Orange, Clifton, Montclair and Cedar Grove.
Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in "Shrek The Musical, Jr.," based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, "Shrek The Musical, Jr." is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.
