Thoreau, a 3-year-old Poodle/Terrier mix, and his constant companion, Sweet Pea, a 2-year-old Terrier mix, were recently rescued from Puerto Rico. They were abandoned after their owner moved away. Having to fend for themselves, they have developed a special bond and must be adopted together. With a little time and patience, these gentle creatures will blossom. Check our Petfinder page to see more adoptables. Meet some of them on Saturdays at the Petco, 1 Route 46 west in Totowa, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. If interested in adopting from Angels for Animals Network, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, no-kill animal rescue group, or meeting a particular animal, text Gizela at 201-655-5059 or visit and our Facebook page.

You ain’t nothing’ but a hound cat. No, Presley is not related to Elvis in any way. If he was, he would not be with START 2. Presley is a good boy with much energy. He goes to beat of his own drum. He is our longest residents right now and is looking for a welcoming home to run around, play and get lots of loving. His sister was adopted; so that makes him good with other cat because of his laid back attitude.Presley is neutered, up to date on all his shots and FELV/FIV negative. VIsit the Petsmart in Wayne, located at 57 Route 23 south, Wayne, to see him. Adoption hours for START II at Petsmart are Saturday 1 to 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 6 p.m. or call Donna at 201-873-7533 for a special meet and greet.
