WOODLAND PARK, NJ - The Borough marked Arbor Day with the planting of four trees on Dowling Parkway with the help of the Beatrice Gilmore Elementary School fourth grade class.

Mayor Keith Kazmark, Councilwoman Tracy Kallert and Councilman Joseph Spinelli were on hand to speak with the students about the importance of planting trees. Mayor Kazmark said he hoped the children would remember the day and in the future, see how the trees grow and maybe someday tell their children about the experience.

Children's librarian Allie Steiger from the Alfred Baumann Public Library also read some short poems to the students from a book that she noted the library would be donating to their school.
