WOODLAND PARK, NJ - The Woodland Park School District and the Alfred Baumann Library have partnered for a required summer reading program for all district students this year.
Charles Olbon Elementary School and Beatrice Gilmore Elementary School students are required to join and participate in the library’s summer reading program, "A Universe of Stories." Students who complete a Universe of Stories chart will be recognized with in the fall. As an extra challenge, if 75% of the school completes a bingo row on the reading board, students will get to “Silly String” their principal, ELA Supervisor Elba Castrovinci, Library Director Linda Hoffman and Library Youth Services Associate Caitlin Cromley-Linn in the fall at a school-wide assembly. The chart, log and Bingo Board must be returned to your child’s teacher by Sept. 6.
Memorial Middle School students are required to read two books – one from a short list and one free choice book. Students will complete a written assignment for one book, to be handed in to their Language Arts teacher by Sept. 9 and is counted as a quiz grade. Memorial students are also encouraged to join the Library's summer reading program.
