Body Discovered in Vacant Multi-Family Home in Totowa

A body of an unidentified woman was found inside 340 Totowa Rd., which is vacant.

TOTOWA, NJ - The body of an unidentified woman was found inside a home at 340 Totowa Rd., according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle.

On May 15 around 1:20 p.m. Totowa Police were called to 340 Totowa Rd. by a concerned resident who reported a strange odor coming from the dwelling, which is a vacant multi-family home. Officers located the body of the woman  inside the building. Valdes said tha police do not believe the woman's death was suspicious based on the preliminary investigation at the scene.

Valdes noted that no suspects are being sought at this time and there is nothing to indicate that there is any danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Totowa Police Department, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey Medical Examiner’s Office. More information will be released once it becomes available.
