TOTOWA, NJ - Numerous area fire companies responded to a fast moving blaze in a two-family home early this morning which resulted in one death.

Gregory Massaro, 62, was identified as the victim of the blaze, announced in a joint statement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Totowa Police Chief Robert Coyle.

Police and fire personnel responded to a report of a fire at around 5:30 a.m. at 205 Gordon Avenue. Mazzaro was located on the second floor of the home. Another individual was rescued from the first floor and was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Hospital as a precaution. Police report that there were no other injuries and that the fire was contained to just the one structure.
