FLORHAM PARK, NJ - AAA reports that the price of a gallon of gasoline continues to drop in New Jersey. The evidence-based survey of gas prices across the state show the average price of a gallon of gas is $2.49.

Today's price is two cent's less than a week ago ($2.51) and 11 cents less than a month ago. The price is 16 cents higher than a year ago. Thf current national average to be $2.43.

Average pump prices dropped two cents in each state around the region. The average price for a gallon of gas in Connecticut is $2.65 ($2.67), $2.63 in New York ($2.65) and $2.71 in Pennsylvania ($2.73). Pennsylvania (6), Connecticut (9) and New York (10) are three of the top 10 most expensive states for gas (New Jersey is 17th).
