Alaris Health at Passaic County Enjoys an Evening of Elegant Dining

Residents at Alaris Health at Passaic County enjoyed an evening of entertainment and elegant dining as members of the resident community were chosen to celebrate the Grand Opening of Café Janyce.

Residents were asked to dress in their finest clothing as the main dining room was changed into a quiet little bistro lit by candlelight (albeit electronically) and the soothing sounds of a piano playing in the background. Each resident was personally escorted into the dining room by staff members, and the menu was reviewed by the maître d, Roy David (otherwise known as the Administrator).

Residents were then treated to fresh garden greens, followed by crab cakes over a bed of jasmine rice, red bliss potatoes, and a summer vegetable medley. Desserts included New York Style cheesecake and Lemon Meringue pie. The chef for the evening, Lisa Edwards, even came out of the kitchen and spent time with the residents to ensure that they were truly enjoying their experience!

By the end of the evening, many residents expressed their gratitude for the time and effort it took by the Dietary staff to pull off such a wonderful event. Special thanks go out to Janyce Buffa, Food Services Director, and her staff for going the extra mile to create such an inviting and elegant atmosphere. The department directors and staff members also got into the act by dressing up for the occasion and making residents feel like they were dining in a five-star restaurant.

Watch for our next elegant dining experience coming this fall!
