PATERSON, NJ- Like countless performers before him Jovan Watlington got his start by performing in front of the congregation at his Paterson church. Now, at just 21-years old, and fresh off commanding the audience with his rendition of “Not My Father’s Son” from the award winning Broadway musical Kinky Boots at the recent P.I.F.F.Y. Awards breakfast, Watlington is set to bring his singing and dancing to Sunday’s Tony Awards.

Preparing for his senior year at PACE University in September, Watlington will spend part of his summer playing the lead role of Judas in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar to be performed at the Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater, Michigan.
