Authorities Seek Public's Help in Paterson Homicide Case

PATERSON, N.J. - Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the person or persons responsible for the death of a 22-year-old Paterson man who died Sunday from gunshot wounds.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher said the man, Kasiem McCaskill was shot multiple times in the area of Carrol and Harrison streets. They said the shooting took place at about 3:45 a.m.

McCaskill died at about 1 a.m. today, said Valdes and Fraher. They said he'd been taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital immediately after the incident.

"The investigation is on-going," said a press release. "More information will follow as it becomes available. Anyone with any information about this shooting incident should contact the Paterson Police Department at (973) 321-1111 or Senior Assistant Prosecutor Joshua Vazquez of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office at (973) 837-7622."
