Berra, Doby, Irvin to be Honored by Essex County Leaders

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ - Three New Jersey legends of baseball will earn a bronze plaque in Essex County on Monday, June 6.

Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo will honor the legacy of Yogi Berra, Larry Doby and Monte Irvin during a ceremony at the Essex County Government Complex at 12 noon. The ceremony will take place at Essex County Veterans Courthouse, Governor Brendan Byrne Plaza, South Orange Avenue in Newark, NJ.

The three Baseball Hall of Famers who influenced the world, began their professional careers in Essex County.

Scheduled to join DiVincenzo are members of the Berra, Doby and Irvin families and elected officials.

The plaques are located along Legends Way, the promenade on the south side of the Essex County Hall of Records, where rows of plaques commemorate people whose contributions shaped and influenced Essex County. 


It will be held RAIN or SHINE.
