PATERSON, N.J. - Less than a week after authorities offered money for information about a rash of homicides in the city, Paterson was hit with one more today.
The latest killing took place at about 2:30 a.m., said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher. They said Sean Brittingham Jr., 21, of Paterson, was shot near the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Summer Street.
Brittingham was pronounced dead at 3:19 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, said Fraher and Valdes.
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office asks anyone with additional information to call 877-370-PCPO or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, information can be given to Paterson Police Detective Ralph Fermin at (973) 321-1120.
Last week, law enforcement authorities announced rewards for information that leads to the conviction of those involved in other recent slayings in the city. Paterson saw 14 shootings in August alone. Four of the shooting victims died, including 19-year-old Edrian Peguero who was slain Sept. 4.
