Body of Victim in Saturday's 5th Ward Shooting in Paterson is ID'd

PATERSON, NJ - The body of the victim killed in Saturday morning's multiple shooting in the 5th Ward has been identified.
 
Quenay Cox, 20, of Governor Street was pronounced dead Saturday morning at St. Joseph's Medical Center several hours after being shot in the abdomen at around 2:30 a.m. in an incident in which three other victims were also wounded by gunfire.
 
 
Two gunmen approached the area of Park Avenue and East 22nd St. by foot at around 2:30 a.m. and began firing multiple rounds, according to Captain Heriberto Rodriguez of the Paterson Police Major Crimes Unit.
 
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by detectives from both the Major Crimes and Ceasefire units. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives Richard Martinez or Todd Pearl at (973) 321-1120 or the Ceasefire Unit at (973) 321-1342. All calls will be kept confidential.
