PATERSON, NJ -  Paterson School Board Commissioner Emanuel Capers is encouraging residents to attend the Board of Education’s workshop meeting on Wednesday to show their support for a proposal to rename the Great Falls Academy in honor of longtime community leader Alonzo Moody.

In an email Capers described Moody as “a man that has truly dedicated over 50 years of his life supporting individuals and families to improve their condition by expressing his heartfelt care and concern in ways that have touched the most critical individuals in our community.”

Moody has positively impacted the lives of thousands of Paterson residents and families through his work Capers said, and even in retirement is still working four to five nights a week with over 100 kids per night at MLK School. Moody’s mantra that “one’s ultimate goal in life should be to make the world a better place than the one they inherited,” are more than words, Capers concluded
