PATERSON, NJ- Following their grand opening on Monday local foodies seeking to get their fill of Louisiana cooking need look no further Boiling Seafood.

Already a successful restaurant owner, local resident Peter Liu decided to export a nearly identical menu from his Seafood Village in Wayne to Paterson’s 6th Ward because he wanted to “bring a new idea, more good food to Paterson.”

Liu and his team of talented cooks served up platters of crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and whiting, boiled and fried in cajun spices to enthusiastic diners as other guests came in to the newly opened restaurant and walked out with bulging plastic bags, served that way, Peter said, so that the tasty contents would stay hot, bulging with a variety of fresh seafood cooked in their choice of cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic sauce.

Mayor Andre Sayegh, joined by 6th Ward Councilman Abdelaziz, led the opening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting saying that the new business was even more special not only because it is the “first of its kind” in the city, it’s also owned by a Patersonian.

“Where else can you get crab, crawfish, and po boys,” Sayegh asked. “Now you can in Paterson.”

Also among the guests to wish Liu luck on the business was Orlando Cruz, chairman of the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce.

“The opening of this business,” Cruz said, “is another example, and a great representation of, the diversity this city attracts.”

Referring to China Pagoda located just up the street from Boiling Seafood, Cruz praised Liu for “making his second investment in the Paterson business community,” before saying that he “looks forward to continued business growth in the 6th Ward and across the city.”


Boiling Seafood is located at 1139 Main Street and is open Monday-Thursday, 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m., Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m., and Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
