PATERSON, NJ- A Paterson man who tried to evade arrest by escaping through a bedroom window on Monday was arrested and charged with several charges, in addition to those he already faced.
According to a report issued by Passaic County Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, four detectives from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrant Squad arrived at the East 18th Street house in order to execute warrants on Randy Ward, 21, on charges of Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS).
The statement continued that upon entering Ward’s room detectives found him attempting to flee. Once he was apprehended they observed an open box containing 278 bags of suspected crack cocaine and 310 glassine envelopes of suspected heroin, with an approximate value of $1,500.
Ward was transported to Passaic County Jail and now faces six counts related to the possession of the narcotics, as well as the previous charges contained within the warrants.
