City Police ID Man Wanted for Questioning in Bank Robbery

PATERSON, NJ – City police are looking for 48-year-old Domingo Sanchez in connection with Thursday’s robbery of the TD Bank on 21st Avenue.

In a notice issued Friday afternoon, police said they were looking to question Sanchez, whose last known address was the basement apartment at 36 E. 20th Street. Sanchez also frequents the area of Godwin Avenue and Auburn Street, according to police.

Sanchez is described as six-foot, 175 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair and a deformed left ear.

The robbery happened at about 11:30 am on Thursday. Police say the suspect gave a teller a note demanding money. Authorities would not say how much was taken. Nor would they provide any other information about their investigation.

The case is being handled by Det. Roberto Mercado. Authorities are asking that anyone with information call Mercado at 973-321-1120.
