Clothing Drive for 1st Ward Shelter

PATERSON, NJ - A Midland Park men's store is holding a clothing drive to benefit the Jericho Road Homeless Shelter in the 1st Ward. Anyone who brings in donations of new or lightly-used clothing to the Sal Lauretta for Men store on Godwin Avenue will receive a 20 percent discount on purchases of regular-priced items. Folks who want to make a clothing donation for the shelter without buying anything can do so as well.
The clothing drive will run through September 30.

The shelter, on N. 9th Street, provides homeless men with food, shelter, employment, counseling, freedom from addiction, and above all, hope. It's been in operation for six years.

“By hosting a clothing drive, we are able to lend our personal expertise in the clothing business to such a worthy cause, ” said Ralph Lauretta, co-owner of the upscale men’s shop he runs with his father and store founder, Sal Lauretta, in a press release. “We are offering this special discount to thank our customers for their continued business and, more importantly, for helping those who are truly in need.”

Founded in 2003 by Pastor Benjamin Dunfee, the Jericho Road Homeless Shelter has helped hundreds of men discover a new beginning.
