PATERSON, NJ- World Cup Fever is gripping Paterson!
On Tuesday the entire Paterson community is invited to an outdoor watch party as Colombia takes on England in a knockout game to determine which team will advance to the tournaments quarterfinals.
Hosted by Mayor Andre Sayegh, Board of Education Commissioner Manny Martinez, and community activists Al Abdelaziz and Javier Fernandez, the match will be shown live on a large screen in the “Colombian Corridor” located at 21st Avenue between Madison Avenue and East 23rd Street.
The street will be shut down to traffic beginning at 1:00 with the match kicking off at 2:00 p.m.
“As a proud Colombian American it is an honor to partner with my colleagues to bring such joy and positive energy to our community," Martinez told TAPinto Paterson. "These are the types of events we need more of to celebrate our diversity and breath new life into our city!"
