PATERSON, NJ- Second grade students at Paterson School 19 had a special visitor on Monday when Congressman Bill Pascrell stopped by their classroom and shared his experiences serving as history teacher, mayor, legislator, and a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

School principal Rosalie Bespalko told TAPinto Paterson that Pascrell was just one of many guests that have visited students throughout the year including police officers, firefighters, and, on the day after his election win, Mayor-Elect Andre Sayegh.

Pascrell took questions on a range of topics including visits to the White House and his favorite sports teams, and urged the students to stay in school and “never stop learning.”

“I want the students to go home and tell their parents about the initiatives of leaders like Congressman Pascrell and Mayor Sayegh to make Paterson better,” Bespalko said. The discussions that students bring home she hopes, helps “get parents more active in their children’s learning.”
