TOTOWA, NJ - It was an evening of Cuban food and specialty drinks as Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of its new location in Totowa, near Fairfield. 

Jeff Melnikoff, owner of Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge, welcomed Totowa Mayor John Coiro, Council President Louis D'Angelo, Phil Wagenti, New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Chairman, and many guests from the community as they cut the celebratory ribbon. 

“We wish him much success here in Totowa,” Coiro said. "Totowa is always ready to have another fine restaurant in town and another dining and entertainment option for our residents and visitors to enjoy and we are happy to have him here."

D'Angelo also welcomed Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge and said that all these great businesses coming to Totowa is what we are all about. He also wished Jeff much success and prosperity with Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge.

Melnikoff said that he was lucky to have been introduced to this location and that he looks forward to bringing delicious Latin food to the area. He also added that he is very fortunate to have celebrity chef Alex Garcia, who has worked in numerous restaurants in New York City and brings the same amazing food to Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge in Totowa.

Guests who came to the grand opening celebration said that they were very excited to have a Cuban restaurant in town and commented on how beautiful the ambiance was and how delicious the food was, adding that they plan on visiting Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge again. 

Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge guests were treated to an open bar and full buffet of Cubanelle's gourmet dishes from their diverse and eclectic menu from celebrity chef Alex Garcia, mostly known for his appearance as the host of Food Network's "The Melting Pot."

Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge worked with Fairfield resident Christine Cusano, event coordinator, founder and CEO of Events by CC, to ensure that the celebration was a success. Cusano said that she enjoys working with Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge and that it has a fantastic atmosphere and delicious food. She shared that it was "a very enjoyable evening with great food and great company."

The grand opening celebration continued over the weekend with Latin Freestyle Saturdays presented by Events by CC. This event featured a live performance by freestyle heartthrob Coro and music by DJ's AlexPro and AnthonyD. 

More live entertainment at Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge from Events by CC will be presented in the future. Saturday, June 23 Cubanelle welcomes famous Latin Freestyle trio TKA as they perform their fan favorites, "Maria" and "Louder Than Love".

Cubanelle Restaurant & Lounge also has event and private party space for up to 250 people with a wide variety of Latin and international cuisine to choose from.

The restaurant boasts two bar areas, lively music, dozens of exotic drinks and a plethora of sangria.
