Dog Park Construction to Begin After Paterson Council Approves $193,000 Contract

PATERSON, N.J.- At last Tuesday's council meeting the board approved a $193,000 contract for Edison-based V & K Construction Inc. to begin construction of a "dog park" on a piece of open property on River Street.

This project will transform a piece of open grass space which is sometimes used by neighboring businesses for parking between Montgomery and Lawrence Streets. The project is financed through funds from HUD (Housing and Urban Development) and the CDBG (Community Developments Blocks Grant).

This project is one of three park projects that the Torres administration has put forth since last year. In October of 2016 budgets were also set aside for a skate park near 21st Avenue, and a park for disabled children in Westside Park.
