PATERSON, NJ - An action by Paterson police in response to “numerous citizen complaints” of narcotics activity in the area of East Main Street and Hillman Street led to the arrest of two local men on Wednesday, according to Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale.

The first suspect, Shaliek Webb, 24, was arrested near 92 East Main Street and charged with possession of and intent to distribute 15 vials of crack cocaine and nine glassines of heroin. The proximity to P.S. 12 and Cobb Park added to the charges.

Also arrested was Grady Sheppard, 55, who was said to have been found in possession of 158 glassines of heroin and 16 vials of crack cocaine, with, like Webb, the intent to distribute the drugs. Sheppard’s charges also included being within 1000 feet of P.S. 28 and was found to be in possession of $158 which police asserted were suspected drugs proceeds.
