Feb. 26: College Goal Sunday at PCCC

 

PATERSON – Passaic County Community College invites students and families who need money for college or other post-high school education to attend NJ College Goal Sunday (CGS) on February 26, 2012. 

The event starts at 1:00 pm on the Main Campus, One College Boulevard (entrance at Broadway and Memorial Drive).   For info, call 973-684-6100 or visitwww.pccc.edu.  Snow date is March 4.

“People who want to continue their education beyond high school, but cannot afford the cost of tuition should come to College Goal Sunday and learn about the options available to them,” said Dr. Steven Rose, president of PCCC. “Everyone is welcome , regardless of the school or college you plan to attend.”  This year, all students who attend will be eligible to win a $500.00 scholarship. 

Attendees can meet with financial aid professionals to learn about scholarships, grants, and loans. and to get on-site assistance filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

To qualify, students must be U.S. citizens (or eligible), have a high school diploma or equivalency and a valid Social Security number.  Students and families should  bring current income tax returns and other financial information. PCCC is one of ten NJ locations participating in College Goal Sunday, a national annual initiative to match students who need funds for post-high school education with resources available to them. College Goal Sunday is a joint venture of  The New Jersey Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NJASFAA) and The New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (NJHESAA), and is funded in part by the Lumina Foundation.
