Former BOE Member and Education Activist Corey Teague Invited to Audition with 'The Voice'

PATERSON, N.J. -  Former Board of Education member and education activist Corey Teague has been asked to audition for "The Voice" in Baltimore this weekend.

Paterson residents are no stranger to the voice. Last year Paterson native We' Mcdonald stole the hearts of the city when she made it to the finals in the competition after being mentored by Alicia Keys.

Teague has been singing music since he was a child, starting out in church gospel. He more recently turned to music after his loss in November's board of education election, and has been singing with the Jersey City Crystallites, his uncles group.

When asked why he decided to send in a video and apply to audition Teague said "I am doing this for Paterson. I want to restore some hope in the children of this city that they can do whatever they can dream".

The absence of the pedestrian benches takes away the ...
