PATERSON, NJ – The city’s former finance director, Margaret Cherone, has landed a $125,000 per year position with the Town of West New York, according to a story on nj.com.

The West New York municipal commissioners approved a four-year contract for Cherone by a 4-1 vote Wednesday night, the story said.

In Paterson, Cherone had worked as the city’s top financial officer under five different mayors. She started under Frank X. Graves and served for various periods when Bill Pascrell, Lisa Dopirak, Martin Barnes and Jose “Joey” Torres were mayor. After leaving city government, she also worked as acting finance director for Passaic County.
