Homicides Continue; Paterson Man Dies of Multiple Bullet Wounds

PATERSON, N.J. - A 24-year-old city man today became the seventh person to die from being shot in Paterson since early August, said authorities.

The man, Christian Cuevas, "succumbed to his injuries after being shot multiple times" said Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher in a brief statement. They said the killing took place at about 4:30 a.m. near 793 East 19th St.

Cuevas was pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, where he had been taken after the shooting, said Valdes and Fraher. No arrests were announced as of tonight.
