June 12: City Green Comedy Benefit in Manhattan

 

NEW YORK - Comedian Tom Papa will be headlining at the fifth annual Comedy Night at Gotham Comedy Club in New York on June 12 at 7:30 PM in New York City for the benefit of City Green Inc., an urban farming  and environmental education non-profit organization based in Clifton, NJ and operating Jersey City Public Schools 4,5,7, 38 and Learning Community Charter School, as well as other urban areas.

The Comedy Night also features Eugene Mirman, Robert Kelly, Ryan Hamilton and Rachel Feinstein.

“This is our fifth annual Comedy Event that supports our urban youth and family programs and there are always some surprise celebrities that are part of the show, “ stated Jennifer Papa, Executive Director of City Green.

Tom Papa, most recently appeared on Comedy Central in his special, “Live in New York City” produced by Rob Zombie, as well as two other specials from Comedy Special; hosted the TV show The Marriage Ref, is known for his appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien, and appearances on The New Adventures of Old Christine. Papa appeared in “The Informant”, opposite Matt Damon, and contributed writing and a voice over to the animated film, “The Bee Movie”. He had a lead voice over in the animated film “The Haunted World of El Super Beasto" and continues to appear around the country.

City Green Inc., has been establishing urban gardens and environmental education programs in Paterson, Jersey City and other urban areas for more than seven years. City Green is now located at Schultheis Farm in Clifton, a five acre farm where they have established an urban farm, will launch community gardens, a Children’s Garden, a farm stand and educational programs for Clifton’s youth.              

The Gotham Comedy Club is located at 208 W. 23rd (between 7th and 8th Ave.).  Tickets are $35 and $50 for VIP tickets; 100% of ticket costs is for the benefit of City Green and can be purchased online at www.gothamcomedyclub.com or at 212-367-9000.
