Lady Knights Win, Advance to Section Finals Against Passaic Tech

PATERSON, NJ - The Kennedy High girls jumped out to a 17-3 first quarter lead and cruised to a 54-40 victory over Ridgewood in the third round of the state basketball playoffs on Saturday afternoon. A familiar foe is waiting for them in the North Jersey Section 1 finals - Passaic Tech, which beat Randolph, 61-39.

The Lady Knights got big performance s from several players, according to the boxscore posted on nj.com.

Ericka Brown was high scorer with 13 and six rebounds. Koryn Lawrence Barrett scored 11 and hauled in a whopping 18 rebounds. Morgan Taylor filled the stat sheet, with 10 points, seven rebounds, a team-high seven assists, three steals and a block, and Ahnyyah Jackson chippped in 10 points.

In its win, Tech was lead by Sierra McDuffie, who had 18 points, according to a story on nj.com.

Tech, which is seeded third in the section, is 19-4, while fifth-seeded Kennedy is 23-6.
