Mace Used on Robbery Victim

PATERSON, NJ - A man walking on 21st Avenue early Friday morning was sprayed in the face with mace and then robbed.

According to Paterson police, the 45-year-old victim was walking in the 300 block of 21st Avenue at around 4 a.m. when the assailant, of whom no description was provided, got the victim's attention and then maced him. While he was overcome, the victim's wallet and cell phone were stolen.

It was unclear how many suspects took part in the assault and robbery.
