PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating the stabbing of a man at 175 Broadway early Tuesday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m., a 38-year-old Hispanic male was walking on Broadway near Straight Street when he was struck in the head by an undetermined object, according to Lt. Bert Ribeiro. The suspect then stabbed him in the upper part of his back and stole his cash, jewelry and phone before escaping by foot.

The victim, whose injuries were not considered life threatening, was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center.
