March 22: Fair on High School Options

PATERSON, NJ - City 8th graders and their parents can attend a fair on March 22 to help them decide which of Paterson's 12 high schools they want to apply for.

The school choice fair will run from 6-8 pm at Eastside High School. This is the first time all city high school students will have to chose their schools.

The 12 options are:

Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts

School of Architecture and Construction Trades

School of Business, Technology, Marketing and Finance

School of Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism

School of Earth and Space Science (PANTHER)

School of Education and Training (PPTA)

School of Government and Public Administration

School of Health Science (HARP)

School of Information Technology

School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics

 

Under the School Choice process, students will submit their top three selections by March 31. Then, on April 18-22, the district will conduct an electronic lottery to determine the order by which students' preferences would be ranked. Finally, between April 21-29, the district will issue placement letters letting students know which schools they will attend.
