PATERSON, NJ - The district's sweeping restructuring plan will be the main topic at a special meeting of the Board of Education on May 16. The meeting will be at 6:30 pm at the district's offices at 90 Delaware Avenue.

The board was scheduled to vote on the plan on May 7, but delayed its decision pending an explanation from Trenton on what impact - if any - the restructuring would have on the board's efforts to regain control of city schools from the state.

Some aspects of the plan remain unpopular, such as the that would reconfigure Schools 6 and 21 so that students from both schools from grades 5-8 would go to School 6 and students from k-4 would go to School 21.
