Nutley Transportation Service Owner Charged with Falsifying or Tampering Insurance Records

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the arrest of Rickie Sullivan, age 61, of Nutley, New Jersey.

Mr. Sullivan was arrested without incident on May 2, 2017, at approximately 7:00 a.m., in East Rutherford, New Jersey, by members the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Insurance Fraud Unit. Mr. Sullivan was charged on the same date by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office with Falsifying or Tampering with Records, 2C:21-4a, a crime of the fourth degree. A fourth degree offense carries a maximum term of eighteen months in New Jersey State Prison. Mr. Sullivan was released on a summons complaint.

Rickie Sullivan, the owner Rudco Inc./DBA: Rudco Transportation Inc., allegedly submitted a fraudulent Certificate of Liability Insurance to Essex Regional Educational Services Commission. On or about June 16, 2016, Mr. Sullivan allegedly provided the Commission with a fraudulent Certificate of Liability Insurance that reflected insurance for periods of time when Rudco was not covered by insurance in an attempt to win a contract to transport special needs students. The contract was not awarded to Rudco.

A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
