PATERSON, NJ -  Oasis- A Haven for Women and Children has announced that regisation is now open for Paterson residents who wish to earn certification to work in the food industry.

A non-profit social service agency which serves over 700 women and children in their Mill Street headquarters daily, Oasis focuses on empowering women and children to break the cycle of poverty. 

Through the training, certified by the National Restaurant Association, partcipants will food preparation safety guidelines and regulations as well as restaurant industry food service and management best practices. Those successfully completing the program will obtain ServSafe Food Handler certification and also be offered resume and job placement assistance.

The free course will be held over three Mondays, May 6, 13, and 20 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Full-Service Community Center located at 512 Market Street.

Participants must be 18 or older and able to communicate, both orally and written, in English.
