PATERSON, NJ - The efforts of Paterson non-profit Oasis- A Haven for Women and Children to break the cycle of poverty through programs designed to feed, clothe, educate and empower women and children in need got a boost earlier this month with a $2,500 donation from the Stop & Shop in Wyckoff.

“Stop & Shop has long admired the incredible impact that Oasis has on so many,” said Stop & Shop Wyckoff Store Manager, John Encke. “Oasis provides a safety net to those in need of assistance and we are honored to be able to help Oasis assist those who otherwise would go without basic necessities."

Oasis serves over 600 women and children daily in adult education classes, workforce readiness training, youth development programs, and basic social services, providing Oasis the tools necessary for them  to successfully move from poverty to self-sufficiency.

“We so appreciate the support of Stop & Shop”, said Jennifer Brady, Executive Director of Oasis. “Stop & Shop’s donation will allow us to not only feed the hungry and address an immediate need but it also gives us an opportunity to offer families long-term solutions. We have successfully operated our Meals Program for twenty-one years, making a real difference in the lives of those who suffer from hunger.”
