Oct. 20: Pou Hosts Outreach on Senior Citizen Benefit Programs, Including Communications and Energy Bill Assistance

PATERSON, NJ - Assemblywoman Nellie Pou will host a senior outreach event on Thursday to raise awareness of the many beneficial social programs available to seniors.
Representatives from Verizon and New Jersey SHARES will provide information about the Communications Lifeline and Link Up America services that offer critical telecommunications safety nets for eligible seniors and low-income individuals.
The event will be at 3:30 pm at the San Martin De Porres Senior Center at 1 Green Street in Paterson.
New Jersey SHARES  is a statewide, nonprofit 501(c)(3)  corporation organized to provide assistance to individuals and families living in New    Jersey who are in need of temporary help in paying their communications and energy bills. For those in need, Verizon Communications makes residential telephone service more affordable in its service area by offering Communications Lifeline and Link Up  America services for qualified, low-income customers.

I am writing this letter to express a grave concern I have regarding the influx of absentee ballots. To my understanding, absentee ballots were designed to be used by those who are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day. Such as people in the armed services or those who are away on vacation. 

This year’s municipal election will be one for the history books.
