PATERSON, NJ - A shooting in the early hours of Tuesday sent two victims to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center overnight, one of them in critical condition.

According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Godwin Ave and Straight Street at approximately 12:41 a.m. on a report of shots fired. 

Upon arrival responding officers located a potential crime scene, but were unable to locate a victim. A short time later law enforcement officials were advised that the victims, 17 and 22, had arrived at St. Joseph’s for treatment.

Two Paterson teenagers were also struck by gunfire in the area of East 18th and Governor Street late Sunday. One of those victims, 17, was reported to be in critical condition.
