Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Host Talent Hunt for Local Teens


PATERSON, NJ - The Men of Lambda Upsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Hosted the 2015 Talent Hunt at Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts.   As part of its internationally mandated programs, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. provides exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to young people participating in performing arts.  The categories for the event were classical instrumental, classical voice, contemporary instrumental, contemporary voice, dance, dramatic interpretation and visual arts. 

This year’s Talent Hunt consisted of 12 participants, many of whom are students at Rosa L. Parks.   

The 2015 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Lambda Upsilon Chapter Talent Hunt was won by Mi-Angel McKenzie. McKenzie impressed the judges with her rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You.  She will compete at the 2nd District Conference on May 2nd at Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ.  In addition to winning a cash prize, she also received a gift bag from Lambda Upsilon Chapter.

I am writing this letter to express a grave concern I have regarding the influx of absentee ballots. To my understanding, absentee ballots were designed to be used by those who are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day. Such as people in the armed services or those who are away on vacation. 

This year’s municipal election will be one for the history books.
