PATERSON, NJ - Passaic County officials have announced that in anticipation of the expected adverse weather conditions and freezing temperatures they have activated the county’s Code Blue Action Plan as of 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Warming centers are now open, and police authorities, the announcement states, are now permitted to transport any at-risk individuals to a warming shelter.

Anyone in need of shelter, for themselves or someone else, should call 877-652-1148.

The announcement comes just hours after Governor Phil Murphy announced a State of Emergency effective 8:00 p.m. and urged motorists to stay off the roads to make them more accessible to emergency vehicles.
