Passaic County Freeholders Offers Film Grant to High Schools

TOTOWA, N.J.- On Friday afternoon, the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders for the first time announced that they will offer a Film Education Grant to high schools in Passaic County.

The Freeholders, along with the Passaic County Film Commission and Passaic County Community College will sponsor a film grant to supply film education in the county’s high schools. Unique Photo of Fairfield announced that they be part of this grant and donate $500 worth of film, video, and audio equipment.

Freeholder Director Cassandra “Sandi” Lazzara stated, “As a former educator, I know how important it is that we encourage young adults to advance their knowledge and learn skills outside the classroom”. “For many of these students, the Film Festival is the first step they take to their desired career and achieving their dreams.”

“Five Passaic County high schools submitted an application for this grant. They requested specific film and sound equipment that will enhance their film education programs and described what the equipment would mean to their students,” according to the county.

The Film Education Grant will be awarded at the Passaic County Film Festival on Saturday April 22 at the Fabian Theater 8 in the upper level at Center City Mall, 301 Main Street, Paterson.
